Lordstown has sports, they just don't have football. I'm not saying to move there though..........

It looks like it may be time to resurrect this thread. Third shift only lasted a few months the last time there were transfers. If you are the gambling type, this thread is for GM employees that are thinking about Lordstown.

SouthRange, good call on resurrecting this thread. I really enjoy helping people find the right place to live in our area. I'm wondering if any of the previous posters ever moved here. Wondering how they've been holding up with all the layoffs. I know of a salary family that bought a house in my parents neighborhood and i don't think they made it a year. They liked the neighborhood and the people, but they missed Wisconsin, so they sold the house and moved back.

BTW, not that it matters, but Trumbull County's townships are square five by five miles. We have 25 townships and the county is the only square county in the state.

I love this map and it gives people a good idea of where Lordstown is in relation to the areas of Trumbull County that we discuss here.

I think it may only be our lower townships that are 6 miles wide. Here is a link to the Mahoning County Townships. Maybe you can make it show up as a picture here.

The dividing line between Goshen, and Green Townships is Route 45. That route runs up through Ellsworth, and Jackson Townships to Lordstown.

We have put in for a transfer to the Lordstown GM plant and expect to be called sometime the end of May, beginning of June. The Lordstown plant will be making the Colbalt and Cruise. They are going to be starting the 3rd shift back up in May.

My plant here in Shreveport,LA. has been put on closed status since Feb. Don't have any idea when it will close, but been thinking about putting in a transfer for the Lordstown plant. I'm married but have no small kids (all grown) and my wife's a nurse and was wondering about what kind of job opportunities might be available for her in the area?

Thanks for the forum.

^Is your wife an RN? I don't think she would have any problems finding a job here.
