Poor kari...awful without the internet. Actually Alaska has excellent service up here since a very high percentage have computers up here to stay in touch with family in the lower 48, etc. It was funny because when we were in Ohio my husband was talking to the guy where we got cell phones and their high speed internet in no way compared to what we have up here.
