I assume everyone knows that was Jodie Foster's butt in that ad? Them was the days! Stay out of the sun for a few days and good luck. We are headed for 113 today with SOME humidity, but nothing like you guys get. Pray for no power outages and maybe even a little rain would be nice. Oh man, then you've have the grass growing and have to go out and mow. Ya just can't win! It'll be over before we know it.

Yes, it's hot. I couldn't believe it when I heard one of the Tulsa meteorologist say the heat index had been around 118 and expecting that again today.

How many of you grew up without air conditioning? I never had AC until 1996! I finally broke down and bought a 5000 BCU window unit from a pawn shop. I've never had central air in any place I've lived. Bought a house that was built in 1921 and I run one window unit for my 1,400 sq/ft. It works and keeps me quite cool. Amazing given I hate hot weather.

I was born in 1954. The summers of 50's and 60's were only in the 80's. No global warming back them.

What's with all the bugs this year? Here it is, nearly 10:30 at night, and I just had one of those danged nasty red wasps dive bombing me!

I can't think of the name of them, but I'm sure RB would know.
I have a nest of those on my back porch.

I find poison spray to be the most effective. Neither my 12 gauge nor my 20 gauge was effective at all........and they caused far more damage than was warranted.......

That's funny. ^(The bug thing not the guy with the artwork.)

Took the boys to Tulsa last night to see Weird Al. Don't laugh...well, ok, laugh...but the guy puts on a terrific show. His band is really good.
Robert Plant is playing the Brady Theater tonight. We tried to get tickets the day they went on sale with no luck. As I was in line last night at will call, I jokingly asked the lady at the box office if there were any seats available. She said "Funny you ask." Turns out Robert returned some of his comp tickets he didn't need and they made them available literally seconds before I stepped up there.
Fantastic seats third row balcony! I'm so excited.

So anyway, one of my boys was saying all the way to the show he was going to get Weird Al to sign his shoes. He kept going on and on and I finally warned him the likelyhood of that happening was pretty slim.
After the show we were walking around the building to the truck...Weird Al signed his shoes. The boy absolutely flipped out. I think Weird Al made his year!

Good times in T Town. See you all over there agin tonight for Robert Plant.
(BTW, the road construction is long overdue)
