Let it come down. I want a second home in Palm Springs and we want the prices to drop before we pull the trigger.

interesting when Realtors themselves are now posting "How to profit from the next crash" LMAO! Even the Realtors have now realized that this party is over and it's all downhill from here...

Palm Springs is still nice and all but I recommend looking somewhere alittle more modern in the newer desert cities right next door. Indian Wells, Palm Desert, and Rancho Mirage are all great options. El Paseo Drive is the Rodeo Drive/Beverly Hills of the Coachella Valley.

"Two of my siblings still live at home despite working full time and getting benefits. They can’t afford to live anywhere in Orange County on their own right now. When college-educated, second-generation kids can’t top their working-class parents, that’s a problem for the future of the American Dream."

Can hard work and saving still buy you a house in Southern California?

"Just become a crooked politician."

Otherwise, no unless they have at least a mid 6 figure annual earnings career imo.

it isn't a normal market, this is Housing Bubble 2.0 and bubbles always explode with spectacular force. The current bubble is bigger than 2008 so fasten your seatbelts, in about 2 years or so this is going to be some sort of show.

I don't get the whole "Oh I'm college educated, and work, I should be able to buy a house in a highly desirable area."

Yeah, that's the how it is in many areas of the United States. Being college educated and W2 employed is not some automatic ticket to live wherever you want.

Just an FYI but high home prices is not an acceptable answer.
They are just dreaming. In effect they want others hurt so they can buy cheap. Ain't gonna happen and unless the whole economy crashes any change will be a flattening or slight drop, maybe 5% or so. Nothing like 2008 which was an aberration. Too many people with the money to buy and too few homes. Yes a flattening is likely to occur and a very slight drop in the popular areas but no "bubble" exists, just normal supply and demand issues.

This is expected in any popular area. Their pay in CA, or even less in other areas, would buy them nice homes in good areas either in CA or other States. No one deserves or has a right to live and buy a home in CA, you earn it or ... you don't get to buy and you live pay check to paycheck until you get smart.
