We are nearing retirement and want a secure and pristine community that allows our 85 lb. English Goldendoodle. We would like to rent it out, but don't want the feel of a transient community. Any suggestions? Thank you.

By "rent it out" are you referring to renting a house in the community to see if you like the area? If so, then there are several houses in several areas in Solivita that are for rent. Solivita is not a transient community by any means. Solivita
is a secure, gated community with a full time security company on duty 24/7. It has a contract with the Polk County Sheriff's Office for patrol by it's deputies and there is a Community Assisted Patrol (CAP) program sponsored by the Polk County Sheriff's Office where trained residents volunteer to patrol Solivita streets in a Sheriff's unit. There are plenty of pools, one indoor pool, two gyms, tennis and pickleball courts, horse shoe, shuffle board, baseball, several activity clubs and more....

If you mean short-term rentals, you're going to have a transient feel regardless. If you mean long term rentals, pretty much any more upscale community that doesn't allow short-term will work for you.

Question Solivita

Does anyone know about new apartment-styled mid-rise condos going up in Solivita ?

Merriweather, Sorry this is really late...there was talk some time ago about condos going in @ Lake Polk off Village Drive. But this was met with such hue and cry that nothing else has been heard in some time.
Solivita Sales 407-414-8514 or 55 Plus Retirement Communities in Orlando & Kissimmee Florida | Vitalia Homes
would get you to a resource person to answer your questions or to find something close perhaps to the facilities that you need.

Thanks so much Starrman69! But we've decided to be closer to WDW.

Enjoy the holidays!

Merriweather, I am a Realtor. I can send you whatever you want. Be careful nearer to Disney. If you buy in a short term rental community you may have different neighbors every weekend. You may also have higher utility rates as some of them are billed as a hotel. Let me know if I can help.

Watch for the monthly HOA fees. They are costly.

Agree! But for us, it is like paying a monthly gym, spa & therapist fee (LOL!!!) for all the recreation, socialization & help with maintenance we'll be getting. At this stage in our lives....WELL worth it! But thanks again.

And BEST of Luck to you!
