These photos were taken in February on a family trip. We went on a Disney Cruise (eldest son's 10th birthday)... had a good time. We went from Cape Canaveral down to Nassau and then stopped in Castaway Cay before returning (3 night cruise). We had several hours on our way back to Denver at the Orlando airport and so we rented a car and went to Little Saigon for lunch and then stopped by Lake Eola adjacent to downtown. Here are the photos from that little trip to Little Saigon / Lake Eola.

All photos by me.

Little Saigon, centered around Colonial Drive and Mills Ave, a little Northeast of Downtown

On the map these shots are from the Colonialtown South and Lake Eola Heights neighborhoods, locals may have a different name though. This area is just to the northeast of downtown

Lake Eola. By coincidence they were having a downtown arts festival at the time.

Pretty much all the residential streets in this area are paved with brick

Excuse the quality of these next two pictures... just stuck the camera out of the car window and clicked while stopped at a red light.

Thanks for sharing those! I am not unlike you, in that I find enjoyment and beauty in everything around me! I really enjoyed all of these...I especially like the one with the young fellow so close to the baby swans (I think) and I could not believe they were not gooseing him for being so close! LOL! Great pics...thanks for sharing your view of The City Beautiful!

If you make it over to Little Saigon, we like the Noodle House at the SW corner of Colonial & Shine, across the street from the Publix. It's Chinese food though not Vietnamese... the kids prefer Chinese.

If anyone has restaurant suggestions in the area, I'd love to hear them for next time we're in town.Thx.
