100-150lbs is only a petite passenger and those don't negatively affect Miatas as it is. Jesus, some of you guys are dense.

My first car was a 71 Fiat 124 coupe. It was underpowered even then. This one looks fine but I still don't want to sit behind a Fiat badge. It is destined to be orphaned in a a few years. Kinda looks like the Sky.

Eh, I don't feel much about it either way. It's probably a fun car and the reviews are favorable but not glowing. My formed opinion of a Fiat is a rust bucket that doesn't always run. I would probably just get a Miata if I wanted a roadster.

It's uglier and more expensive than the Miata but has the better engine (and, hopefully, better engine SOUND if the Fiat 500 Abarth is any indication). On the balance...ehh... Have to drive one before forming an opinion.

You might want to take the plunge into the 21st century to join the rest of us.

I've had a lot of classic British and Italian sports cars, and driven many Miatas on the track. The new 124 reminds me heavily of my old 124s (which ran just fine, thank you) in style (it's amazing how close they got it without being actually retro, as if it simply evolved to modern times), but with Japanese electrical systems and build quality. I'd MUCH rather have this than a Miata (hell, even though Miatas are great cars, I'd rather have classic British or Italian sports cars than just another Miata).

This was my last Fiat 124, a wonderful daily driver that looked good, and sounded great, and drove much better than the classic MGB and Midgets. You can see where the new one got it's styling cues from:

Looks like Fiat is determined to ruin another nameplate. How's the Dart doing these days? This thing will be gone in 3 years.
