What DON'T you miss? What things are BETTER in your life and our world today than they were when you were younger?

I don't miss having to dive under my desk at school during air raid drills during the cold war.

I don't miss automobiles that did not have safety features such as seat belts and air bags.

I don't miss choking smog and heavy dust from the Gary steel mills, before the Clean Air Act became law.

We never had drills where we got under the desk..duck & Cover?? Wouldn't miss them though we are surrounded by airbases and Fort Sam Houston.

Am guessing a lot of older people don't miss the lack of medicines. We haven't had antibiotics, nor as many for so long. That's what came to mind, anyway.

I don't miss TV sets that required you to get out of your chair and walk over to them to change the channel. Remote controls are an awesome invention!

After being a computer software professional for almost 25 years now, there are a lot of things I don't miss in that field.
  • PCs that take forever to boot up, and you have to use a floppy as a boot device.
  • Before broadband/high-speed internet connections, when we only had dial-up modems, I remember 20 years ago having to connect to the network at work with 9 KBS dial-up connections.
  • The lack of reliability on older Windows systems (prior to Windows NT)
  • If you worked with large mainframe computers in the 1970s (that was 10 years before my time in the computer industry) you probably don't miss having to write a JCL job just to do a simple task, like copy or delete files.
