After being a computer software professional for almost 25 years now, there are a lot of things I don't miss in that field.
PCs that take forever to boot up, and you have to use a floppy as a boot device.
Before broadband/high-speed internet connections, when we only had dial-up modems, I remember 20 years ago having to connect to the network at work with 9 KBS dial-up connections.
The lack of reliability on older Windows systems (prior to Windows NT)
If you worked with large mainframe computers in the 1970s (that was 10 years before my time in the computer industry) you probably don't miss having to write a JCL job just to do a simple task, like copy or delete files.
I don't miss my old Drill Sargent in basic training nor the First Sargent for that matter.
