Mrs J and I are now planning the remodelling of our utility room using some units from our kitchen, prior to a new kitchen being fitted due to the water leaks we had. (Ain't life complicated! )
So we have been going through what is stored in the cupboards in the utility room and reckon that certain large items can go. We found one gizmo still in it's wrapping from our return from Texas a few years ago!
So my dear peevers, if you're still with me in this thread, today's peeve centres (centers ) around stuff you store but never use.
POTD;
Storing stuff you never use.
By the way, help us out here. Mrs J reckons that this is less of an issue in the US because she thinks everyone has more storage space. Your views on this would be appreciated.

Ha ... I wish ! This American has very limited space to store items not being used and yes, it is definitely a pain in the you know where
How much land do you have, Jezer? It looks quite big in the photo. I think they generally build houses now with more cabinets and larger closets. Do you have a basement there? We do up north, but when I lived in Texas I could never get used to not having one. The garage is the Texas basement and folks seem to store the overload of stuff there. We had a nice storage room in the family house in the basement, perfect for stuff you didn't use but didn't want to throw. Right now having too much of anything isn't my problem.
It's a beautiful sunny and crisp winter's morning out there;

Your pic was opening slowly on my cranky laptop and for a moment I thought it was a far away view of Stonehenge. Nice grounds, Jezer! It does look crisp. I gave up storing decades ago. If I'm not using it or planning to use it soon, I donate to a shelter. Somehow there's always more stuff to give away. But most homes usually do have plenty of closets and garage space for piling things. Even apartments will have a storage room adjoined with a patio.
I have to say I dont' do that much anymore. 5 years ago before we moved to our retirement community in which we downsized big time.........we threw out, sold or gave away. Just knew there wouldn't be room to store so I figured we had no choice. Since I have not accumulated much.

I don't like to store stuff. If I don't use it it gets donated, sold, or tossed. Ever since my hubby and I moved into a motor home for 3 /12 years to travel we have learned to really cut back.
Tell Mrs J that my DH and I are living in less than 100 square feet for the winter We have no extra space anywhere
Unfortunately for me, my wife is a professional pack rat, she has stuff from gawd knows how many moons ago. Every nook and cranny is packed with stuff, even the garage which has 14 large cabinets and a ceiling rack is loaded. Everything has a purpose she sez. Good peeve Jezer.
Our house was built in 1865, two story, 4br and two tiny closets that are maybe 5 square feet each.
Thank goodness for large Rubbermaid storage tubs and the barn.
