Seeing we have sounds of the past..why not smells of your youth or past..
I am not talking about Uncle Ben..

My dad made the best Northern Bean and Ham Hock & Onion casserole piping hot from the oven you could smell it for miles.
My mother would make the best mince meat pie with cinnamon. (No meat) This was a mix of raisins & dates figs dried fruit and spices you preheated in a double boiler and then baked in a pie shell.. the aroma of the spices and cinnamon........ I am drooling thinking about it !

Fresh baked bread from my Mom's kitchen.
The first day of school: The smell of cleaner. Newly waxed floors. New books. That purple mimeograph ink they used to use on the school papers.
My dad making popcorn the old way. The kind you made on the top of the stove in a big pot, oil, and the popcorn from the bag.

Well, that brought back a flood of memories!!

My mom also made bread. But the smell of swiss steak is still one that takes me immediately back!
Also, on the bad side, saurkraut and also pickled tongue....

My grandma's closet always smelled like lavender sachet.......

Thought of a couple more:
The smell of a puppy dog.
The smell of a new baby.

A bakery making bread early in the morning.

The pretzel and potato chip factory in the next town.

The smell of a wood floor in the local hardware store.

Homemade donuts and good home cooked meals.

Waking up to the fragrance of yellow roses from the rose bush near my bedroom window.
