This is an interesting thread SATX56. Now that this pictures have been posted and on the internet for 12 hours,,,,,,, have any [black cars] and strange men come around the house to watch you?
I have looked all over the net.. About the size of a C-130 Nose Cone. Trying find that size nose cone is a daunting task. It would make a great shelter...
Weird is what it is! Especially with the Gemini plaque on it. Near an AFB too.... It is strange, and there are several of them? I just don't know, but they do seem to appear to have housed something needing ventilation... I just don't know! Sorry. But I sure would like to know!
I can't remember the details, but there is something similar at Fort AP Hill in Virginia. They have these nose cone shaped units installed in a remote area and the local scout troops used to be allowed to camp in them.
If it is for radar installations as some have surmised, it would appear that some of the radar operators were blind. The first 3 symbols in the bottom line are "gem" in the braille alphabet. The rest are hard to make out from the picture, but I am guessing that it is "ini8".
After 20 + years at the Space Center in Florida the only thing I can say it's made for aircraft and not space.. I was looking around the NASA site for shipping containers. The containers for all flight hardware for Space Craft are large metal containers that have a positive pressure too assure no contamination. If you look threw this link and search for Gemini related and or any thing about space it's on this site. Shuttle ~ Crawler ~ Launch Pad it's here.
I just thought the proximity to the ("Chernobyl" like atmosphere) of an abandoned Military base and it's actual part in Aerospace history lends an aura of mystery and intrigue to these objects. The domino type code on the plaque is a bit mysterious. I doubt we'll find a definitive answer to this mystery unless someone can find a company named Gemini that makes fiberglass huts.

But, sure enough, if I throw it out.................................
