Bend, Oregon - which is located in what is known as the high desert so its rather dry here. To the west we have huge pine forests and to the east it turns into very dry desert of mostly sand and scrub brush. Here's a shot from one of my favorite drives which is just about 5 miles from the cafe shot above.
