I went to a supply store that sells various wares for vendors. I picked up a large sign stating "Made in the U.S.A." - on the back of the sign there was a sticker "Made in China."
I don't have a photo, but when I visited last time Vancouver/BC/Canada I passed by a church that had a very big sign up saying "SILENCE IS GOLDEN " and this phrase stuck with me forever
I'll tell you a funny story about this "No left turn sign." I was riding in a car with someone I worked with one day. She came to this sign and turned left anyway while horns were honking at us. I was shocked and said, "Judy, didn't you see that 'No left turn sign?'" She said, "Oh, is that what it meant? There is a line through it. I thought it meant 'No left turn' and then they changed their mind and crossed it out! Duh!
There is a book written about J Edgar Hoover and the FBI titled "No Left Turns." It's a good book, BTW. In it the author tells about Hoover's driver. It seems that one day Hoover was being driven somewhere in DC and his car was in an accident when the driver tried to turn left. So, Hoover told the driver to never, ever turn left again. Needless to say the guy had to make many right turns to get Hoover to where he needed to be after that.
True story and a funny one, to boot.
Seems like I've seen one of those somewhere.. Thanks Mike!
