Today’s Question:
Does your home have doorstops (mounted or wedge)-or do you use items for that purpose ?
LINK ---> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doorstop Hmmm. This home doesn't have any mounted ones. But I use an old sadiron in one spot, and a barbell in another spot (what? they're for exercising? What's that?). I also have a great Toto one, but come to think of it I haven't seen it in a long time. Wonder where it is????

Extra Credit:
Do you know how to use-
a slide rule ? I had one but never used it. Math is my great weakness.

LINK --->
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slide_rule
a graphing calculator ? Huh what???
LINK --->
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphing_calculator

Bonus:
Have you ever-
worn a helmet ? Yes. For work, and I still have it.
made a candle ? Yes. And taught others how.
set off a backyard rocket ? Nope.
had to abandon a vehicle mid-journey ? No, thank goodness.
used an ejector seat/floatation cushion/parachute ? Yikes! No, knock on lots of wood.
had a limb in traction ? No; looks uncomfortable.

Just for Fun:
Have you ever studied and/or communicated using-
smoke signals ? Don't think so.
semaphore (waving flags on sticks) ? Yes, back in girl scouts. In fact I have a semaphore poster somewhere around.
Morse Code ? Nope.
Have you seen the British mystery series “Inspector Morse” (or read the books by Colin Dexter) ? Nope.

Thanks, Cloven! Have a great Monday, all!

Good morning cloven and all.

I hope all goes well for you with those high winds about.

Today’s Question:

There's a couple in the hall, mainly so that the cat can get around!

Extra Credit:
Do you know how to use-
a slide rule ? Yes. I miss mine. I also had a snazzy circular one, with stuff like the periodic table of elements on the back.

a graphing calculator ? I don't think that I ever used one.

Bonus:
Have you ever-
worn a helmet ? For cycling.
made a candle ?
set off a backyard rocket ?
had to abandon a vehicle mid-journey ? Yes- my first car died on me(thank goodness).

I loved the TV series. They were a wonderful change from so many detective series that over relied on guns, car chases and so on. The repeats are still going strong.

Thanks cloven.

- I played American football for part of one season when I was a kid, in 1967. Hated it. Quit in mid-season because we were 0-8 and the coach would only put me in for 4 plays per game. I wasn't as big as the rest of the team which told me a lot about that sport.

made a candle ? - Nope.

set off a backyard rocket ? Never.

had to abandon a vehicle mid-journey ? - Only once, last winter due to an unexpected snow storm.

used an ejector seat/floatation cushion/parachute ? - Negative.

had a limb in traction ? Severely sprained ankle in 1998. Twice I had a fractured finger as a kid.

Just for Fun:

semaphore (waving flags on sticks) ?
Morse Code ?
Have you seen the British mystery series “Inspector Morse” (or read the books by Colin Dexter) ?

No to all and never heard of the latter.

Thanks, cloven.
Happy Monday to all!

Posting early because there's a gusty wind outside, with risk for power outages in area I expected to lose power last night, but didn't. Hope you were as lucky, cloven!

Today’s Question:
Does your home have doorstops (mounted or wedge)-or do you use items for that purpose ? I use rocks. One rock is one that my grandparents & then my parents used at our farmhouse. I also use pieces of iron with rings.... They're old & I'm not sure what they were used for.

LINK ---> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doorstop

Extra Credit:
Do you know how to use-
a slide rule ? Haven't used one since high school.

LINK ---> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slide_rule
a graphing calculator ? Again, haven't used one in years. Not sure I would remember.

Bonus:
Have you ever-
worn a helmet ? When riding motorcycles or snowmobiles
made a candle ? Have.... I remember making sand candles.
set off a backyard rocket ? Fireworks
had to abandon a vehicle mid-journey ? Have, a couple times on 91.
used an ejector seat/floatation cushion/parachute ? Floatation device.... PFD, when out in the kayak. I use it to make the seat more comfy, not because I've fallen in.
had a limb in traction ? Happyily.... no!

Just for Fun:
Have you ever studied and/or communicated using-
smoke signals ? Haven't
semaphore (waving flags on sticks) ? Haven't
Morse Code ? This either....
Have you seen the British mystery series “Inspector Morse” (or read the books by Colin Dexter) ? Have seen the series.

Wishing you a day filled with convenience, C-D peeps Not headed into a convenient day. I'm hoping my dirt road isn't a sheet of ice & I can get down off my hill to school! The inconvenience the rest of the day I did to myself with what I have planned for the kids. They'll have a good time though, so it'll be worth it.
Thanks for the ?s and the maze, cloven!

Today’s Question:

Some doors have mounted ones. I remember the old wedge ones from times gone by. Don't have any.

a slide rule ?
Sure.
a graphing calculator ? Yep.

Bonus:
Have you ever-
worn a helmet ?
made a candle ? Did as a kid from candle run off. Here's a tip, use a cotton wick. Polyester fizzles.
set off a backyard rocket ? Set off firecrackers.
had to abandon a vehicle mid-journey ? Had to arrange for towing.
used an ejector seat/floatation cushion/parachute ?
had a limb in traction ? Blimey, no.

Just for Fun:
Have you ever studied and/or communicated using-
smoke signals ? Only to send heap big messages!
semaphore (waving flags on sticks) ? When prepping for Monty Python skit.
Morse Code ? Meep-meep! That's Morse code for "roadrunner." Which sounds similar to, Knee deep! That's Morse code for Washington, DC.
Have you seen the British mystery series “Inspector Morse” (or read the books by Colin Dexter) ? I try not to subject myself to British drama.

Today’s Word:

Show me the emolument! (Doesn't have the same ring to it. )
