I remember when gas was under 30 cents per gallon. And they pumped it for you while washing the windows.
Wow, I don't know if I remember gas being that cheap, but I do remember my mom would go to a gas station w/a sign that said, "we will glad pump gas for ladies"... oh how I wish the gas station was still a full service station
Newspapers!! I used to save newspapers for school paper drives. I did it myself in the 1940's and for my kids in the 1970's.
I remember school paper drives in the 50's. We were either the red or blue team, the grades were divided into two teams. Luckily I usually was on the team that brought in the most newspapers. The prize was a little container of ice cream with a small wooden spoon.
