I'm so old I remember when there was no such thing as color tv.

I remember when a a child the simple things occupied us and we fun. This was long before video games and all the things kids have now to occupy them. We used to make our own paper dolls from Sears cataloges. We would even cut out the furniture and other things for our paper doll house. We would run through the sprinkler in the summer. We would play house with a doll and our siblings. We would ride our bikes or roller skate. I had the skates that were metal and had a key and opened up to fit your shoes. The problem was they would often come off.

President Kennedy's administration and funeral, Cuban Missle Crisis, b/w tv, our 63 Ford Falcon, Gunsmoke and Bonanza in prime time, bottles of Coke or Pepsi for .05 cents, penney candy, comic books for .10 cents, the milk man, wringer (sp) washers, Fuller Brush salesman, coal furnace, Edsels, dial phones that use to weigh 10lbs--made of bakelite, everyone going to sunday services dressed up their best clothes, going to baseball games with my father who used to go in a shirt and tie, everybody (for the most part) being polite to one another.

^^^^^^

I find myself checking the ages of people in the obit section.......to see if I'm older than most of them. When that happens, I'm thinking I may have outlived my life expectancy.

Remember buying a piece of apple pie and a lge glass of coca cola for 0.20 cents and later on McDonalds burgers 10 for $1.00. My wife would bring our own lettuce and tomatos and the kids ate in the car (station wagon) while in the drive in theatre. (I'm 80 today and pushing real hard towards 81 in two months)
