Whatever happened to Stuckey's? They were our favorite stop on the way to Florida on vacation.

And remember when all the Howard Johnson's had orange roofs?

We played a game on the Florida trips where the first to call out a Stuckey sign got a point and when we reached the store the winner got to pick a refreshment. I got hung up on coconut milk drinks.

I remember the Burma Shave signs on HWY 66 when driving cross country to CA back i 1947.

They were still around through the 50's as I recall. Maybe the early 60's. I miss them.

I know many of them in Florida were abandon.. sat for years then turned into .. carpet store - tourist trap.. citrus stand for tourist..

Looks like Pilot Travel Centers took them over.. I know as a kid they were all the way up in middle Penn. I-81 corridor south..
