I had a hula hoop back in the 90s, but I found more fun throwing it in the air like a discus. But then that all ended when I threw it and ended up through someone's kitchen window! My dad smacked my arse and grounded me for a week
As for table tennis - never had the hand-to-eye coordination for that, even as a kid!
My problem also.. No hand - eye coordination.. plus my hips did not swivel and the hula - hoop ended up on top of my feet..

Necco Waffers - Red Wax Lips - Wax Bottles with colored drink inside - Laffy Taffy.. freeze and smack on a hard surface and share with a friend - Milk Shake Candy Bars - Sky Bars - Atomic Fire Balls - Mello Cups and the coupon inside - Cracker Jacks with the tin toy - Penny Gum Balls Machine that gave you 3--5 balls depending how you tipped the machine at the Buster Brown Shoe Store - The Marble Counter Top at the Rexall Drug Store and the Malt or Burger.. the 25 cent jute box at your table at the " Dinner" that looked like a rail road car.. Pink Flamingo Colored interior with Chrome or that Sea Foam Green - and the old time wood and brass cash register with the crank and tomb stone numbers that popped up and the sound of the sale as the drawer opened.. The smell of fresh ground coffee at the A&P Food Store with the wooden floors and wooden shelf's.. the saw dust on the floor in the meat department as they sliced the meat off 1/2 a carcass of beef hanging by a hook from the over head rail that ran into the refrigerated room.. the butcher ground the meat.. and placed it on deep red heavy paper placed on the scales.. you had to watch. The Butcher some times would lay a knife or a thumb on the scales..
