I'm so old I remember... The old Bakelite Black Rotary Dialer Phones with the brown cloth cord.. drop the hand piece on your foot it would break it.. you hard wired it into a termination block at the base board.

I remember our station wagon had 855-14 bias ply tires. Back then people got around just fine in the snow with their rear wheel drive cars and non-studded bias ply snow tires.
One thing I am glad has disappeared is the 16.5 inch split rim wheels that used to be on 3/4 ton pickups.
