July 4, 1976 - Going to a huge party to celebrate and going to so many that year I kinda remember decorations and parties throughout the year to celebrate the bicentennial.

In school taking typing and shorthand classes.

Also taking sewing classes - everyone use to sew. I can remember going to dances in High School and my friend and I would sew maxi dresses. They turned out nice, then we use to borrow dresses from each other. There weren't tons of stores back then and kids didn't have a lot of clothes, so we were happy to sew something and have a cute stylish dress for the dance.

I'm so old I remember... roller towels in restrooms. There was a brief resurgence at one point. I can't remember which decade. I really dislike those loud blowers.
