I'm really not old, but one of my students sure made me feel that way today. We were having a brief political discussion when he came out and asked me if I knew about Bill Clinton's affair . It took me at least a minute for this to sink in. I had to step back and think that this kid was probably only 5 when this happened, so of course he wouldn't have known about it. The worst part is, they were being taught this in history class. History class? I know comedians are still talking about it, and it really just doesn't seem like it was that long ago, LOL! I don't know why this struck me as so odd, but I really had a hard time grasping that a 15-16 year old boy had never heard of the Monica Lewinsky debacle.

Just had to share my "funny" story !

I discovered I was old a few years back when I returned to uni and the kiddies, great folk that they are, were raving about the latest fashion and how cool it was. Of course I already had it in my wardrobe left over from the 80s but they thought it was so cool and hip and new!!

That old feeling hit me a few years ago when I realized that 'Greg Brady' was eligible for AARP benefits!

I have had that experience this week and today.
This week I was getting my hair done and this other salon stylist goes I remember back in the day when gas was 1.29 and she was only in her mid 20's. YOu cant use that phrase "Back in the day" til you are 35 and depending on the general age of the crowd you are addressing.

Today out of the blue I got a call from my 3rd grade teacher and I am in my mid 30's . Omg I dont remember nothing from those years but I figure I would start a thread on the subject of why she was calling if you want to share your opinion. Reunions: Family or School Do You Attend Them?

Well I guess that makes me real old, I remember when Eisenhower was having an affair with his secretary, and when Marilyn Monroe sang happy birthday to JFK....

I remember this too.

YouTube - Marilyn Monroe sings Happy Birthday

Sadly, they'd both be gone in a year and a half's time.
