~ Have you ever owned a 'black light'? - Long ago.

~ How about a 'lava lamp'? - No

~ Posters for your wall that you had wayyy long ago: - Some black light decades ago.

~ Other things related to the late 1960s: - I wish I was on my own then or living with different parents...

I used to listen to a late night underground rock show on my transistor radio. It was all I had.

~ Outdoor concerts/festivals that you ever been to: - I've been to many.

Most memorable was driving 3 hours to JFK Stadium in Philadelphia to see the Stones on their "Some Girls" tour. They skipped the DC area. It was in the middle of a brutal heat wave. Fortunately it was a cloudy day which really helped. I was able to get up fairly close to the stage and had a great time.

~ Record albums from the '60s and 70s that you liked a lot: Too many to name, sorry. Artists like the Stones, Kinks, Deep Purple, Robin Trower, Procol Harem, Climax Blues Band, Led Zeppelin, I could go on and on...

~ Did you have a portable cassette player/recorder? - Yes

~ How about 8-track tapes? - I remember when they were a thing. I used to have a small collection.

~ Have you ever seen Tiny Tim and Miss Vicki on TV? - I remember them.

~ Anyone remember Moms Mabley? - Heard the name.

~ Remember Shake a Pudding? - No.

~ Can you list a few "Funny Face" different flavor-character names? - No

~ Have you had acorn fights, dirtbomb fights or fruit off the tree fights? - Never heard of this.

~ Ever play army fights with sticks and stuff? - Never into that.

~ How about go berry picking? - Never did, interested though...

~ Some of the animal creatures you remember from when you were much younger: - IDK.

~ Did you have an ice cream man in the summer? What things were your favorites? - Chocolate Eclair was my favorite.

Did you used to buy 'caps'? (For a cap gun or just to hit on the concrete porch to make them explode...bang! Did you ever bang the entire roll all at once? - Yes, I remember them.

~ Some of the animal creatures you remember from when you
were much younger:

~ Did you have an ice cream man in the summer? What things

We always had a supply of caps and we shared them with the neighborhood kids.

~ Outdoor concerts/festivals that you ever been to: My wife and I enjoy the Medieval Festivals that are held in Spain thru out the year, especially the Nothern province where she is from that has Celtic Roots. ~ Did you have a portable cassette player/recorder? Yes

fights? Only dirt bombs

~ Ever play army fights with sticks and stuff? Yes

~ How about go berry picking? Yes

~ Some of the animal creatures you remember from when you
were much younger: My first dog, Happy. His loyalty is still a legend. He was poisoned. Laid down by my grandmother's feet as she sat in a rocking chair and never got up and now my eyes have flooded.

~ Did you have an ice cream man in the summer? Good Humor and Mr Softee trucks came around every day. What things were your favorites? I liked the cone with soft vanilla encased in a hard chocolate shell from Mr Softee. Good Humor I like their I/C sandwich. I have never found one as good these days, even the present Good Humor one.

Did you used to buy 'caps'? (For a cap gun or just to hit on the concrete porch to make them explode...bang! Did you ever bang the entire roll all at once? Yes, I loved those.

**** I wish I could see you all over the holidays...Love and

Good morning, rainroosty and thank you! Brrrrr, it's cold out there. (9 degrees here in NE Texas, feels like it's about -5 because of wind!) Your Christmas plans sound excellent. I am looking forward to my first Christmas sort of alone. Not really alone but sort of - no family around.

~ Have you ever owned a 'black light'? No.

~ How about a 'lava lamp'? No.

~ Posters for your wall that you had wayyy long ago: I was never big into posters but I did have an entire wall made of album covers. Prince, Aerosmith, etc.

~ Other things related to the late 1960s: Well, I was a little kid, but I do recall rigging up something to watch the total eclipse of the sun in the DC area.

~ Outdoor concerts/festivals that you ever been to: Hmmmmm...OK, let's see - Sting, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Topp, Bad Company, to name a few.

~ Record albums from the '60s and 70s that you liked a lot: Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water," Prince's "Dirty Mind," Michael Jackson's "Off The Wall," James Taylor's "Greatest Hits."

~ Did you have a portable cassette player/recorder? I had to buy one a few years ago because I found some cassette tapes my dad had made of our family and sent to HIS dad instead of letters, when we were all kids!

~ How about 8-track tapes? I never owned any but I had a boyfriend who did.

~ Have you ever seen Tiny Tim and Miss Vicki on TV? Who are those people?

~ Anyone remember Moms Mabley? Not me.

~ Remember Shake a Pudding? No.

~ Can you list a few "Funny Face" different flavor-character
names? No. Sorry!

~ Have you had acorn fights, dirtbomb fights or fruit off the tree
fights? We used to have a persimmon tree in our back yard and my brother and I would throw that fruit at each other sometimes!

~ Ever play army fights with sticks and stuff? When I was a kid, we had an elaborate game called Prison Camp and we were always trying to escape from a prison camp and used sticks a lot.

~ How about go berry picking? Loved picking blackberries!

~ Some of the animal creatures you remember from when you
were much younger: I stepped on a frog once when I was barefoot. That was pretty disgusting.

~ Did you have an ice cream man in the summer? What things
were your favorites? Oh my gosh, we used to hear the ice cream truck coming down the road and go CRAZY trying to find some change! I loved anything with ice cream and chocolate on it.

Did you used to buy 'caps'? (For a cap gun or just to hit on the concrete porch to make them explode...bang! Did you ever bang the entire roll all at once? I never banged the entire roll all at once but we did have caps and I did love them. For some reason, we often got them in our Christmas stockings.

When it hit the "target" it would pop.

Sunday is Christmas and I will spend all of my day and night with my beloved Kitty Buttercup! This is a very wonderful thing! It's 4 degrees here right now but at least the sun is shining.

~ Have you ever owned a 'black light'? No

~ How about a 'lava lamp'? No

~ Posters for your wall that you had wayyy long ago: Had maps on my wall near my bed. After I watched the news, which was usually about the Vietnam war, I would stand on my bed to find the names of the places on the map. Also did that when the President traveled. The only other thing I had on my wall was when I was 15. My then boyfriend drew a picture for me.

~ Other things related to the late 1960s: I graduated in 1969. That's the year of Woodstock and putting the first man on the moon (actually 2 of 3 men walked on it). Robert Kennedy and Dr King were both assassinated in 1968. Summer of Love was in 1967. Our TV only had 13 channels and UHF and they played the National Anthem when stations shut down for the night. In the late 1960s I had 4 jobs at different times at Grants, Macys, some factory where they shipped women's irregular clothes as a summer job and a part time job during my first semester at college (end of 1969) in DC at a company that supposedly did insurance investigations of people including some famous ones but which I think was a front for the CIA or FBI because of the government men who used to have "special sessions" with the boss and wanted to see our files in a closed room all of the time. I liked poor boy shirts with miniskirts (not too short or the vice principal would rip the hems down and call your mother) for school. Watching The Prisoner on TV one summer and had fave TV shows like Combat, The Outer Limits, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., The Avengers, Garrison's Gorillas, The Legend of Jesse James and Hullabaloo. Was a big Yankee fan when they weren't that great of a team. Read a lot of baseball biographies, science fiction, Agatha Christie and spy novels (which was big in those days - spy anything).

~ Outdoor concerts/festivals that you ever been to: Herman's Hermits, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond, The Rolling Stones, Charlie Daniels Band, Los Lobos, The Association, The Who, Gary Puckett, ZZ Top, Sha Na Na and some I can't remember. Neil Diamond put on the best show.

~ Record albums from the '60s and 70s that you liked a lot: High Tide and Green Grass (Rolling Stones), Wildflowers (Judy Collins), Pleasures of The Harbor (Phil Ochs), Rehearsals For Retirement (Phil Ochs), Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon and Garfunkel), Crosby, Stills & Nash, Roy Orbison's Greatest Hits, The Drifters Golden Hits, Hotel California (Eagles).

~ Did you have a portable cassette player/recorder? I think so because I remember when the tape in the cassettes got all messed up but I don't remember the actual player.

~ How about 8-track tapes? No. Parents had that.

~ Have you ever seen Tiny Tim and Miss Vicki on TV? Saw them on TV when they got married.

~ Anyone remember Moms Mabley? Yes.

~ Remember Shake a Pudding? No.

~ Can you list a few "Funny Face" different flavor-character names? No. Don't remember that.

~ Have you had acorn fights, dirtbomb fights or fruit off the tree fights? No, just snowball fights.

~ Ever play army fights with sticks and stuff? No

~ How about go berry picking? No

~ Some of the animal creatures you remember from when you were much younger: Same as the ones I see now. Don't think anything has gone extinct since the 1950s. Bald eagles now are as common as robins. The animals I saw at the Petting Zoo, I still see today on farms.

~ Did you have an ice cream man in the summer? 3 - Bungalow Bar, Mr. Softee and Good Humor

What things were your favorites? creamsicles, ice cream sandwiches

Did you used to buy 'caps'? (For a cap gun or just to hit on the concrete porch to make them xplode...bang! Yes. Had a cap gun and used to hit them with a rock in the playground. They were on a red roll.

Did you ever bang the entire roll all at once? Don't remember but don't think so.

**** I wish I could see you all over the holidays...Love and happiness, peace to you all! ****

Merry Christmas to anyone who won't be on the QOTD Christmas Eve or Christmas Day!
