ok let me go start todays thread before I head out to breakfast and before the "kids" decide they need breakfast NOW !!!

Karla....re brussel sprouts.....it maybe the cooking and not the vegetable that makes the difference...BS can be sweet and mellow and mild or they can be sharp and bitter and unpleasant.....most people would like the former and dislike the latter. (My Dad always insisted BS shouldnt be harvested until after they had been frosted and better yet....snowed on....to sweeten them.....even more so with Parsnips....leave in the frozen ground over the winter perhaps covered with a layer of leaves....and pull back the leaves and dig em in the spring when the ground thaws out enough.

The Hot Cheese Dip was worth the anticipation and wait ... yummmmmyyyyyyy! But I ate too much of it (shamelessly had three helpings!) and that didn't leave much room for the rest of the spread of food put out by Mr and Mrs K with a K.

[Simple recipe: into a crock pot goes a block of cubed Velveeta, a half pound of browned and drained ground beef, a half jar of salsa. Once melted and mixed, dip into the delectable concoction with Fritos.]
