I worked at a place that had this once a year. You paid for the chance to smash a pie into a big wig's face. The money went to charity. I had this boss I hated. Just a disagreeable fellow. But a lot of people hated him so the bidding went up to the hundreds of dollars. It was way out of my reach. So all of my friends got together and chipped in so I could win. People were on on the lot passing the hat so Dew could clobber this SOB.
Dang. Smashing him with that pie was one of my best days ever.

LOL - my HS in SoCal did this (one year they did dunk tank too I think).... When I moved to the East Coast my senior year and suggested this at a meeting for some kind of fund-raiser I got some looks. You'd have thought I'd sprouted an extra eye in the middle of my forehead. I learned quickly to keep my "crazy, SoCal" ways to myself after that.

Yes, it's funny how in some places something is S.O.P. and two states over it's unheard of. I see that on C-D a lot. Especially on the SoCal boards. The more recent transplants tend to see the old-timers as more than a bit "off".
A dunk tank in AZ is considered totally wild and crazy. I sure can't see anyone here throwing a pie.
