Huh - well lucky you. They are just strange. Doesn't look local. In fact, Ford encourages people to follow the sock puppet on facebook. For the life of me I can't figure out the marketing plan and who is the idiot that thought having a puppet ask to smell someone's fingers is a good idea.

This is another sign that we aren't the target demographic anymore.

That idiot who thought up that marketing plan is probably 25 years old when you consider what what the younger generation considers funny.

I just youtubed a couple of the sock puppet commercials.

Confirmation that I may have a strange sense of humor because I thought they were uproarious. Me likey.

(Plus I knew all the locations. There's something weirdly SoCalifornian about a Ford with a sock puppet named Doug parked in the red zone in front of Grauman's.)

Doug sort of grows on you after a few videos. Did you see the "freak flag" one, Dew?

He sort of reminds me of a cross between the Geico lizzard and that baby for etrade, just with more humor.

My guess is that's what they're going for---establishing a long standing personality, like the lizard and the baby. (I love the baby--great voice)

I didn't see a video for a commercial that had any smelling of the fingers. Maybe that one is weird. But Doug is weird. His purpose is to be weird.

I've known about a hundred Dougs. Freak Flag was good. Morning Routine was better. (Getting the lint roller stuck on his tongue was perfect. )

See, I've only seen one that they repeated play over and over again - I'm thinking we must see it when watching Hulu. In fact, we commented the other night that it is strange there is only one commercial.....

I washed my tennis shoes in the washing machine a couple of weeks ago. It feels like the inside near the toes never dried. Is that possible?

I didn't throw them in the dryer because I thought that would ruin them. Guess I was wrong. Should I wash them again and dry them in the dryer?

I've never washed tennis shoes before. I always threw them away when they got ugly. But they washed up so nicely. I'm afraid I ruined them by not putting them in the dryer.

Just finished DD's Kindergarten graduation. Now I must get busy planning the party. It is nothing big. We rented a hall to fit 450 of our closest friends & family. She got a gown and will be arriving by limo. Her graduation gift will be a new car. Since she isn't old enough to drive it yet, her car also comes with a driver. I am thinking about letting her take a gap year before starting 1st grade and spend some time traveling Europe.

What do you all think? Am I missing something? I feel like we aren't doing enough.

I think Doug is only on-line right now. There's a whole bunch of videos on his youtube channel. They are really well done IMHO. (But like I said, I KNOW Doug, lol.)
