Moist dry dog food and vitamin supplements for my kids. Amazing how much extra time Mom and I have.
I love piling on. LMAO
My Oma used to feed us kids dog treats because 'the kid on the front looked so happy'. She didn't speak or read much English and assumed they were kids treats

My daughter went through a phase of eating dry dog food, couldn't keep her out of it. She had beautiful silky hair and glowing skin though.

My Oma never visited us here, but as a kid, I will admit I tried them too and the pictures of smiling kids made me think they were cookies... they were in the little box just like the 'fancy' cookies (not the cellophane wrap the kiddie cookies came in)... It took me until kindgergarden to figure out why momma 'hid' them in the laundry room.
I went over to read her mail to her and found her having a snack. The teenager who cleaned for her had moved things in her cupboard without telling her.
My mom used dog biscuits as teething biscuits for me and my sister when we were cutting our first teeth. Much cheaper than the human stuff, more nutritious, all natural, and served the same purpose. I think they were liv-a-snaps.
Considering that when you're 1-2 years old and have no trouble eating crayons, mud, and bugs, and doctors typically find chess pieces in toddlers' ears, I'd say dog biscuits was the most benign of oddities.
Also, good parents DO make 3 meals a day. You just have to cut them up into smaller pieces so they fit in the freezer.
Cereal doesn't count as a meal. Neither does a value meal, unless it's just some days. Poor diets can be blamed for overweight kids. They're fed junk, therefore they're not very entergetic so they eat more and feel lazy. They perform poor in school. Or underweight kids.
Cook your kids 3 meals a day.
You can call me a bad parent then... the kids eat cereal for breakfast at least 5 or 6 times a week and during the school year I pack 'em lunches.. usually a sandwich and chips maybe an apple.
The only meal I cook is dinner/supper and we eat out a few times a week.
i sux!
