Hi everyone,

I am a mother of two young sons. My 11 year-old is going to have a birthday party soon. However, he wants something different - for the past years, we have invited clowns. I want something that kids can dance do and enjoy.

Based on this video, I see the kids are happy in the background. Would that cheer my kid up?

(There's no nudity in the video. Watch it halfway and you'll see what I mean...)

Would giving him some cash, taking him to a bank, and encouraging him to save it up, and spending his birthday at Cici's with the whole family and going to a 50cents, Tuesdays only movie not make him, and the whole of you Happy?

Just what we did this birthday and it was soooooo much fun.

My son is 13 and a couple of the things that he wanted a few years ago..have a few of his friends sleep over, and we took them to the movies. one of the times after the movie is was pizza to eat, the other time, they wanted to go to mcdonalds! The one year, (i think when he was 12) we offered him $100 to not have a party and he took it! For 13 he just wanted his friends to sleep over and they ordered pizza in, played video games etc. they had a lot of fun. With all of his friends turning 13..we have seen people hire dj's, rent out big facilities and invite 40 people. I told him no way! to that extreme stuff.
I know that some kids like to go paintballing at places. there is also a local place that has a rockclimbing wall. you might look for something like that.

Laser tag is something fun for that age. Or the sleep overs. If you can handle the noise, the kids will have a blast.

I second the Laser Tag idea, or a party at a bowling alley. A baseball game with a group of friends, if they're into sports.

Laser Tag or bowling are great choices for a kid his age. Another great option would be to have it at a paintball site.

Check into your local bowling alley.... ours has dark bowling.... they proveide a DJ black lights, videos and prizes.... it runs from 9 til 1am on Friday and Saturday nights.

I told Son I'd pay for 4 kids plus him (it is 16.00 a pop) and pizza/sodas. I went, sat in a corner with my laptop and played Pogo while he and his friends had his "party"
