Both my in-laws retired from fire departments in Florida in their early 50s, both have pensions worth about $70-$80k/yr and I'm not exactly sure what their NW is, but I do know my father-in-law said Vanguard starts paying attention to you when your account balance hits 1 million. They also have 3 rental properties and own 2 water front homes in Florida. I don't think they received any money as all of their parents are still alive.

NY
34
96k/105k, next year might be 108k/107k
1.05M in cash/investments
225k equity in home

We both have pension options that we pay in to.
Experiment this year of fully funding 2x401ks and a 457

High Salaries straight out of college.. no college debt
Low Expenses... Living at home with parents/roommates.

Saving $20-25K per year each... Add in an employer match and it's "easy" to get to $1 MM between two people.

I'm in shock at some of these responses but then I have to remember this is CD. There have been articles posted that say the majority of Amercians don't have $1,000 in savings and then I come and read this entire thread. Anyway, this is the internet. It's very easy to post information no one on here can verify. I want to play:

La
30 married/3 kids
$205K per game income/ $3.5 M per yr (wife is SAHM)
$9.5 Million in cash/investments
$475k equity in home

I only work about 17 weeks out the year. This doesn't include if we make the play-offs and off season workouts. I'll probably retire this year. My body can't take anymore.

WHO DAT!!!

This must be the test thread of "how much personal information are stupid people willing to disclose online (or lie about and stupid people accept as true)", an interesting sociology study

People, the internet is not private, you should know that by now (and I am not talking about the government, but people that can easily disclose your identity)...

Or one could ask how paranoid are some people because the information being disclosed isn't really an issue. What would it matter if someone knew I had a million dollar net worth? It really wouldn't
