I have seen people bring dogs and yes even their cats to the supermarket while they go shopping. The dogs are always those little dogs that yap too much. Their pets are either in the front of the cart like their toddlers or in a bag like a purse. Do you do this? Does this annoy you?

Unless they're assistance animals, it's against the law, and store policy. You should talk to the managers of the stores you see allowing it.

I've never seen anyone bring them into a supermarket where I live, I recommend telling the store's manager as swagger suggested unless they are for assistance. I bring my dogs with me to the Pet Store only.

I never take my dog to stores.

Honestly speaking, I get much more grossed out by people coughing, sneezing, etc. all over the food and the carts at the grocery stores.

This is what truly annoys me.

I've never seen cats, but I have seen people with small dogs in arm where dogs are not allowed. If I can't bring my large dog in, then they shouldn't be allowed to bring their small dog in even if they can carry it in a bag.

I don't have a problem with well behaved animals in stores or even cafes. Beleive me, I've seen far more nastiness (ie poop, urine, vomit) from babies and toddlers.

Pet owners seem to be a little more responsible than some parents. And I've never had a dog take stuff out of my cart, move my cart, or starting crying/screaming because they wanted something.

We were just talking to a clerk who is our friend about this. She said many people have a separation anxiety issue, the managers have suggested clerks not to bother the customers over it. So in it's own way they are service animals.

I love seeing animals out and about with their owners Whether it's in parks, outdoor cafes, lobbies, arts and craft stores.

As long as they are well behaved.

I can't stand 90% of the children that the mothers are continuously dragging around with them that are screaming, running at the nose and mouth, stomping their feet, throwing things, and ... I'm so embarassed for the parents, I can't imagine how they must feel.

If it's an issue of cleanliness, of course. Grocery stores are not the place I think I would put one. But there are clean friendly well behaved helper dogs that I would even admire and reason with being in one with no problems.

It's a case by case basis? But in my cases, most animals get the majority of my vote versus most children, lol.
