Who wins if you are looking for a place to live on a budget?

I've pretty much ruled out other towns and narrowed it to these choices long term.

I'm simply asking out of these choices, which do you estimate has the lowest cost of living? I trust humans more than I do some calculator I find off of google.

I think the cost of living is going to be about the same, these towns are all within the same area. Is cost of living your deciding factor? I think Sellersville would be my favorite among the towns just because it has the Sellersville theater.

Cost of living data does not really vary from one small town next to the other. All are affected by similar external influences. Therefore, I agree...there really is no difference, so pick the place you like the best!

I do think it goes up though (could be wrong) if you get into lansdale, montgomeryville, hatfield, harleysville etc. Perhaps it remains about the same in the outskirts of rural montgomery county, and upper bucks.

Cost of living matters. It is important at my wage. There are of course other considerations too.

Cost of living involves many factors... home prices, taxes, etc. Prices of utilities, goods such as gasoline, and recreation/dining also come into play. I've seen huge differences in gas prices in towns just a short drive from eachother... For example, compare the cost of gas prices in Doylestown to those in Sellersville, which is a 15 - 20 minute drive away.

With that said, I agree with the other posters that I don't think you'll find a huge difference among the towns you listed. You should take other things into consideration like your commute to work. The shorter your commute, the less you spend on gas and auto maintenance. It also leaves more time in your day, which can yield its own financial advantages. Easy and quick access to shopping, physicians, and leisure activities can also save you some time and money.

The nice thing about all of the towns you mentioned is they all have a variety of housing from more affordable rowhomes and condos to expensive large single homes. If you are renting, you can find a pretty wide range of rentals as well. There is sure to be something in your budget.

I agree with the previous poster that Sellersville should be on the top of your list. It isn't necessarily more affordable than your other choices. However, it has other advantages such as a great theater, great park system, and easy access to just about anything. Its a nice community in general.
