Hope this is just the beginning of filling in these massive lots.
Um, the image in that link shows a proposed addition to the old Bulletin building, now owned and occupied by Drexel University.

Bart Blatstein’s Tower Investments Inc. is looking to buy the Marketplace Design Center in Center City to create a bold, mixed-use complex that would include constructing a residential tower on the roof of the structure.

The property consists of two buildings — 2400 Market St., which is about 370,000 square feet, and 12 S. 23rd St., a six-story, 120,000-square-foot building. Blatstein wouldn’t reveal how tall of a tower or how many apartments it might include. Market chatter has Blatstein thinking about a 40-story extension and a few hundred apartments. The building is built to withstand construction on top of it. If all goes according to plan, Blatstein said he plans also include consolidating the design center tenants and adding retail on the Market Street side of the building.

Yeah, don't know how that happened. Thanks.

Although, for the Bulletin Building, Drexel is adding 5 floors to it.

I need a Trolley Extension , extend the 36 to Eastwick station and then the Airport , build a line along Passyunk Ave - 63rd Street - Lindbergh Boulevard between South Philly and 36 Trolley at Eastwick. I would upgrade Eastwick into a Multi-Modal Hub station and encourage TOD nearby which there are a lot of opportunities. I would at Stations at 70th Street , 63rd Street , Elmwood Ave , and 49th street....along the Airport line. I would add another line along Grays Ferry - Washington Ave from 49th Street to Proposed Waterfront LRT. Thats all I would do for that section of Philadelphia.

It would be nice to see light rail in South Philly.
