Wondering if Bala Cynwyd or Wynnewood are safe cities given their closeness to Philly. I've read recently of spill over of crime into these areas. Thanks

I would say yes, but it depends on what you consider "safe".

They are safe. There are some students from St. Joseph's University who live in Wynnewood and Bala Cynwyd. Depending on where you live, you may encounter some of the typical issues with parties. I don't know about this from personal experience, I am just guessing. But I go to St. Joe's and know that St. Joe's students do live in Lower Merion township (where Bala Cynwyd and Wynnewood are).

Wynnewood is hood. I dodged bullets every day growing up.

Both areas are subject to violent thunder storms in the summer. Lightning can strike a tree which could fall and kill you. You are also in danger of being run over by a speeding Mercedes Benz or a Lamborgina. Very unsafe area IMO.

A crimewave in Wynnewood might be someone not picking up after their dog.

In Bala Cynwyd, a crimewave might be someone parking illegally, or on the busy road that separates the city from the township (in which Bala Cynwyd is located), underage drinking by St. Joes college students might keep the police busy.

crimereports.com might shed some light on crime on the city side of 'the busy road that separates the city from the township'.

I've never seen a Lambo here. Saw a Maserati and Bentley today though.

That could explain the presence of the ferrari/maserati/lambo dealer on Rt 30 halfway between villanova and bryn mawr.
