High walk score, museums, the history, galleries, the Philadelphia Philharmonic, top notch educational institutions, great hospitals, Reading Terminal Market, local farmer's markets scattered throughout the city, something for all ages!

Thew walkability of CC and the "hot combo" @Johnny's Hots. Being able to eat it on the Race Street Pier is an added bonus.
The Art Museum (in it and behind it).

The food is outstanding, especially the food trucks and the diversity of ethnic restaurants. The city is very walkable, public transit better than most big cities (but not as good as others), traffic is usually pretty good (except that damn bottleneck on 76 by Boathouse Row), and there are plenty of good schools (at all levels) in the area.

As a native Midwesterner myself who has lived in all 4 regions, I find people in Philly far more friendly than people in the Midwest. People in the Midwest are polite, not friendly. People confuse the two. People in Philly aren't polite, but are pretty friendly if you speak to them.

As a Midwesterner myself, I've always found Midwesterners to be very aloof, distant, reserved, and polite.

The polite nature can be very deceiving though.

Just a nitpick but an important one: It's the Philadelphia *Orchestra*, not "Philharmonic".

I just work in the city (live in the suburbs) but I have to echo 1) Food 2) Beer (there's stuff you can get in bars here that you can't get anywhere else except California) 3) Walkability.
