Truthfully the worst transit moment for me was when the DC metro train I was caught on fire a couple of years ago. Nothing like that has ever happened to me on Septa.
I don't know if you're a fool, but I'm certainly within my bounds to want to avoid being on a nearly/empty train that passes through sketchy areas late at night.

The wide array of Septa commuters doesn't bother me. If anything, they make the trip more interesting... most of the time. Occasionally you'll get the same-zone traveler who takes umbrage at being prompted for ticket money the one out of every fifteen times the conductors bother to check. Then you have to wait at the next stop until the police come and escort them off.

I actually snapped some pictures. I rid it from Jefferson to Suburban.
Can't use tinypic because my IP is blocked so I have to send you the links:

This is how it looks from outside:

Brown leather seats and (faux) wooden panels!

I love the door. INstead of the regular ones we have, this one is slide open just like in submarine.

PS: If anybody knows any website to convert images into paste-able pictures just like tinypic, please let me know.

I believe those cars are from the 21st century, despite the wood printed laminate materials.

Aw disappointing.
It looks like from 60s or 70s though.

Reminiscing on some of the major events of the city, it is hard for me to believe that this was 5 years ago yesterday.

One funny thing I thought about just now, is how before the Pope came, there was no cellphone service in the subway. That spurred major upgrades to the network in the city.

Cell phone carriers investing millions in Philadelphia for pope visit

2014 and 2015 were seriously the years that perceptions of Philly changed. All of a sudden, Philadelphia was the place to be if you were a millennial. Who remembers the endless amount of articles stating 'Why Philly is the coolest city in America?'

There was service, but only AT&T had it down there because of their sponsorship. Having them as a carrier made the commute on the train a lot easier. There were a few random drop-offs in the trolley and subway tunnels, but overall it was near-perfect LTE for the vast majority. It's one thing I miss a lot about Philly. In NYC, everywhere but the actual stations are total dead zones.

Seems like a good idea to me, rather than have people blabbing on their phones.

Five years later, one would wonder why you would still bring a dead page back to life? BTW, once I had my Blackberry, SEPTA did have wireless service underground, way before NYC!
