I got "locked" into going to Phillies games when I was kid. Nothing has changed.

I'm very unAmerican in that I hate football.

Am I overestimating the popularity of the Flyers? Or is this just a time when they happen to be doing well and the other teams are bad?

I only follow hockey a little mostly to support the few black players in the NHL. Wayne Simmons has had a good season. Can't really answer your questions though....

I didn't start out being a Phillies fan. I went to games with my Mom who was " in love" with Willie Mays back in the 1950s. So we only want when Mays was in town and it wasn't a school night.

Later during the Richie/Dick Allen years I started to pay attention to the Phillies and I learned about some of the racist stuff they used to throw at Jackie Robinson. That was a painful thing to learn about! But when the 70s came along I had gotten over that pretty much and was all for Steve Carlton and, of course, Mike Schmidt who is the same age as me.

I cant wait until the Eagles come down to M&T Bank Stadium to play the Ravens in 2016.. that said I will be watching the game from home because I can only imagine the fun that will be going on in the stands.. Ravens fans are not as rowdy as Eagles fans but they are no push overs either..so Eagles fans heed the warning below......

FYI, Dick Allen is currently employed by the Phillies front office and also heavily involved with the Phils "Urban Youth Academy". Many local fans are not aware of that.
As a child I witnessed live him hitting a ball out of Connie Mack that was the furthest ever hit there. Went way out over the Coca Cola sign in left field.

Yes, I know that Allen works for the Phillies now.

I was at that game too!

All things being equal, if both teams are doing well, the Phillies will have more popularity in fans. Some of you may disagree but I believe Philly is more of a baseball city than a hockey city.

NO question about it that the pro sports teams in popularity go from (most to least popular)

1. Eagles
2. Phillies
3. Sixers
4. Flyers

I would agree that this is the "set" order. I put the flyers tied with the Phils early because:

1. Sixers are garbage
2. Flyers are making a playoff push
3. Ryan Howard had an error on the first play of the year so they were tied with the flyers in my mind haha.
