The lady we do call Karen is a massive stickler about what you put in your recycling. Which I actually appreciate at this point, because I have noticed that it's a reoccurring theme on dirty blocks that people will put items like a greasy pizza box and the recycling worker will just toss it out of the bin and leave it behind because it can't be recycled.

And yes, sadly quiet a few people I live around are delusional entitled people who have little interest in actual "community". I realized that the first Halloween I lived in South Philly. Halloween on Pine in Fitler Square was something every one participated in. We have got tons of kids the last 3 years in South Philly, but still maybe only a half dozen households sat outside and gave out candy. It annoys me because I know a lot of these people are Reclaim Philadelphia "activist" types who really only care about grandstand pandering on the internet.

KJ is a bold faced crook.

It's amazing to me that he has such a rock solid hold on his position.

I'm starting to think the terrible idea of Mayor Gym may come true.

Where has Nutter been? More notable people and groups need to take the attention off Gym...

Philly mayor’s race: More labor unions are throwing their support behind Helen Gym and Jeff Brown

Philly needs a law and order Republican Mayor. Otherwise the city will continue to fail.

I'm a crippling pessimist. I dead certain Helen will be Mayor.

In other news, it seems like Darrell Clarke is preparing to step aside for his cheif of staff to take g=his seat. What are the chances he's not a total piece of crap like his boss?

I'd say the odds of the latter are low.

But I'm not sure Gym's a lead-pipe cinch to win, either. The Teamsters and TWU 234 are both behind Brown, and the two big AFSCME unions are split, with the (larger) blue-collar one in Brown's corner.

I will even wager that the Building Trades Council might even back Domb.

I love Michael Nutter, lol. I'm glad he grilled her.

Mayoral candidate Helen Gym and ex-Mayor Michael Nutter clashed during a live event: ‘We are just in total disagreement’
https://www.inquirer.com/news/helen-...-20230221.html

In his final question, Nutter noted that Gym said during a recent mayoral forum: “When I walk into the room, systems of oppression fall and new systems of opportunity come up.”

“I literally never heard Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi ever say anything like that,” he said. “But I guess I just want to ask, I mean is that what happened when you walked into the Union League?”

Is there such a thing as an "Asian savior complex"?

If there isn't, I think we need to create one just for her.

I've been called arrogant before, but that statement makes me look like the model of humility. It's breathtaking in its hubris.

I wonder who she thinks is worshipping her?

the pro-crime Democratic Socialists who don't want the trash pick-up to come on time? It's amazing to me how many of the organizations that support her are like "we are taking the power back!", taking the power back from who? Yourselves?

Honestly watching the "(non) Working Families Party", Reclaim philadelphia, "Liberty City Dems", and every other idiot group bend over backwards for her is sickening.

The theme of the article is also irritating.
I clearly sense a biased tone in favor of Helen Gym. I won't give it another click, but I'm sure you will pick up on it too.
