Just relocated to Mesa, and need to find a good vet for our cats. Any suggestions? Would be interested in either the usual family vet or a "cats only" clinic, preferably somewhere that is honest, caring, and knowledgeable.

Years ago, when I had a kitty, I took her to Dr. Lucey at the Acacia Cat Clinic (now Acacia Cat Hospital) at Tri-City Veterinary Hospital. She was a fairly new vet then, but she was wonderful. She's still there, as far as I can tell. It's on Broadway Road, right at the Mesa-Tempe border.

I highly recommend McClintock Animal Care Center in Tempe. They treat all animals, but do have separate entrances for dogs and cats/exotics. We do animal rescue, and they're great with those animals, as well. MCCLINTOCK ANIMAL CARE CENTER

Default We went to Baseline Animal Clinic, but we'd like to consider other vets

I take our cat to Baseline Animal Clinic and as far as I can tell, he does not like them at all. He is our first pet and would like to take him to a better, friendlier vet. I told them when I took him there for an operation that he is not the friendliest cat and that they should do everything to him while he's sedated--groom him, put the shield collar on, etc. I also told them that his collar with his name tag is like a security blanket to him, and he should have it on by the time he's awake. They did not listen to me and just literally dumped my bleeding cat on us. Yes, the poor baby fought them tooth and nail and for them not to be able to handle a cat is laughably incompetent, in my opinion. Our cat absolutely loves his sitter (and vise-versa) so I think it's the way they were handling him that got him riled up.
