Can you get "at least a 1/4 acre" lot in Anthem? I know you can closer in, but I'm not familiar with all the subdivisions in Anthem.

It's not me as much me as it is my wife and kids. We have two toddlers and a teen. They will undoubtedly use the amenities frequently. I've kind of given up on the lot size requirement...doesn't seem likely out there unless we move way out or spend tons of money. There are a couple houses in Anthem that have sufficient sized lots. I hear you on the rental term, but we need to stick with an area for at least 2 years (renting or buying or a combination of the two). Reason is we have a teen in her 2nd year of high school. Bad enough we're moving her this summer, no way do we want to uproot her again before she graduates.

Still my question is...are there any other communities closer to N Scottsdale that have similar activities? I'm not set on Anthem yet, but so far its high on our list. Something closer but with similar features would be interesting too.

It sounds like they want a master planned community. I don't know the area. Have you talked to any realtors? They can help you find a rental, and can answer all these sorts of questions. Not that this site isn't also a good resource but there's not a ton of people here and an agent could probably answer your questions quickly and send you listings to look at.

I agree with ReadyFreddy. A realtor familiar with that far NE Phoenix N Scottsdale area will be more familiar with community amenities in that area than most of us here would be. They can give you something to compare the Anthem situation with, and you can decide from there. Best of luck to you, and welcome!

There are communities in n. phx and Scottsdale but I'm not sure they will be in your price range: aviano, fireside in desert ridge, windgate ranch in Scottsdale to name a few.
