Hi

I am moving to Peoria in a couple weeks. I am moving into an unfurnished apartment. Since I have been living in furnished places for the last 3 yrs in Alaska, I will need to go shopping when I get into my apartment. I will need to get a bed set, mattress, couch, and bar stools.

Where does everyone get their furniture?

Thanks
Jennifer

Do you want great stuff, good stuff, or cheap stuff? (you can also read this as Do you want expensive stuff, reasonably priced stuff, or crap?)

No matter what your answer is, don't overlook Craigslist as a resource. There ARE some very good deals and good quality items on there.

Ikea, Costco, La-Z-Boy and Kerby's are my old standbys.

I picked up an almost brand new kitchen set and leather living rm set on Craigslist back in March. There's a lot of people moving both in/out so there's some good buys if you catch it rite. There's a bunch of furniture stores out in Glendale ( near Peoria ),Mor Furniture and Ashley's has some nice stuff pretty reasonable.

We searched the valley and in the end, we bought a lot of stuff from pruitts. I wish we had been there earlier.

We used Ashley's and Room Store recently. They had a big selection and good prices.

Also several auctions if you are looking for high quality items at a (sometimes) very reasonable price! My favorites are the Delaney Auction and Brunk's Auction. I know Delaney's buys a lot of stuff from Ashley and we've purchased several top quality beds from them in the past.

Mine is the same list as ReadyFreddy but add Copenhagen's on Southern and the price freeway to the list. It's modern, and one side is a bit pricey while the other side is similar to Ikea's style and price and has that German, Norway look to it.

Not a big fan of the Mediterranean/Tuscany look anymore personally, but if you are there are a lot of great places for that as well around here. A lot of people are into it, it looks good with all the brown and stucco.

I like Mor, Pruitts (have a great sectional on hold there now), Craigslist is great. Craigslist is great for all levels of price, but I like to look at high quality stuff on there. I've bought several high end pieces over the years that last longer than the new stuff for less. Oh and Fry's Marketplace has some nice stuff for cheap. I've bought furniture at The Room Store and Ikea in the past, too.
