I had it on for one day a week or so ago when the temp was in the 90s, but not again since...until last night....apparently our teenager decided she was hot and turned on the A/C instead of opening a window, and didn't tell anyone. I noticed it was running at 2PM this afternoon and boy was I mad (time of day plan, you know)!

I have my A/C on all year round, even if it is 25 degrees outside in January. I do not have a working heater, not that I would ever need it.

Guess you like cold. I love the Phoenix Spring and Fall weather with my windows open all day and night. Days in the 80's/90's with lows in the 60's/70's at night is the time of year that's perfect to me. Though 101 with a low about 97 is a nice day to me.

No, in all honesty it is the apartments I live in. I have the A/C on set at 75 degrees, and even if it is 25 degrees outside it still kicks on and off all day. I finally found out why from the maintenance man. They have boiling water running overhead through 8 inch pipes all the time, and the apartments have concrete walls which makes the whole apartment a boiling room IMO. To give you an example, my friends from Phoenix came here and got a hotel room for new year's eve in which I stayed with them. I turned off the A/C for 18 hours or so, and when I came home my apartment was 87 degrees! This is with a high of 50 and low of 32 degrees outside. No wonder my electric bills are sky high.

What if you just cracked the windows (at least when it's cold like you described)? That would save you a lot of $$.

Well, I have no choice but to keep my a/c off. Tried to turn it on last Friday for a little while and realized it wasn't blowing cold air. Just moved into this condo Feb 1st which is owned by investors. One of the owners has been aware since last Saturday that the a/c is not working. He appears to be stalling to get it fixed. What can I do to get him to act on this and get it fixed? I'm getting concerned.

***UPDATE***

It's been 10 days since the last post and it's been getting warmer, who still has yet to turn on their A/C yet this year?

I didn't make it...A/C came on Saturday evening. Had the windows open and the house was at 80 and wasn't cooling down so we turned on the A/C and got it to 76 and we all slept better.
