Mexican drug war affect on Phoenix area

You have NOTHING to fear here. No more than any other major city. I would fact check what you read and hear regarding this subject.

Lol, conservative media outlets? There are very few of those if you haven't noticed and these stories regularly are on abc, nbc, cbs, cnn & msnbc. This has nothing to do with conservatism and is simply people blowing things out of proportion just like scorpions, rattlesnakes, javelinas and all the other things people that are not from here worry about.

Corporate America is conservative, and they own all of the networks, and all of the stories they air have a pro corporate agenda, which is conservative in nature. With the exception of MSNBC (excluding Morning Joe) some CNN programming and PBS, which aims to be investigative, most on air news is go with the corporate conservative flow broadcasting. Anything that is pro average citizen, that will cost big business more money, WILL NOT be aired or promoted.

The news about here would not be blown out of proportion if there were not a political and profit motive involved (the two are interconnected).

Wow! I am so glad you wrote this, because you nailed to a tee exactly what is going on here. Mainstream Media Outlets in this country are sickeningly saturated with propaganda, and it is unfortunate that they are very effectively able to control what the unquestioning masses think and feel.

Whenever you read or hear something on the news or from any media outlet, ask yourself WHY would the media/Government want you to believe it; to what ends will it serve their agenda that the masses believe it, and then come to your own conclusion. Mainstream Media in this country has been successfully converted to the 4th branch of Government.

The definition of Terrorism is: The use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims. With that in mind, ask yourself what entity or entities most fit that description?

The national media often gives a very warped view of Phoenix. I always have family back east telling me Phoenix is the murder capital due to all the mexican drug gangs and how do I go out and feel safe. Last time I checked Detroit and St Louis were the murder capitals with DC following close behind. Or when I say to family, been having a hard time finding a house to buy due to high demand and no inventory. Family tells me, on the news we see Phoenix is foreclosure capital, homes only cost about 150K, etc etc. A 150K home in Phoenix is either in the hood or Queen Creek 60 miles from downtown. More like at least 250K or higher for decent house in a nice area with most nice spots over 300K. National media seems to hate Phoenix for some reason.

If you want to see daily murders by Mexican drug gangs you can look at Chicago....its basically the two main cartel gangs fighting it out in the name of smaller lessor known local gang members over the cartels drugs and money and influence.

Chapo has never even been spotted in Chicago...It's just another example of media propaganda given to the masses to further private political agendas...

Mexican drug cartels supply the majority of product to drug runners associated with the cartel. The drug runners smuggle the product across the border to the USA, then pass it off to various US organized crime syndicates. It then drips down to local street gangs for distribution to the end users.

It is true that Mexian drugs cartels are the beginning point for the majority of illegal drugs found in this country, however they do not bring their politics across to the US side of the border, nor is there any actual turf war of Mexican drug cartels anywhere in the USA.

The violence going on in Chicago is violence that has been going on for decades (or longer), and it is between local, American street gangs. Mexican cartels have absolutely nothing to do with that. The media definitely does create some pretty interesting stories, but at the end of the day, a lot of it is nothing more than that; a story.
