Is it just me or has traffic in the Valley been particularly bad for about the last month? The whole city just seems really really crowded right now. Last Saturday I was driving eastbound on the 60 in Mesa and the freeway was packed. Traffic was moving pretty fast but it was close to being bumper to bumper. Just in general the city seems very crowded, more so than usual. Is there something I'm missing?

Traffic is not exactly light here anyway, some will argue our traffic is no sweat but I commute in it everyday and I disagree.

You're probably noticing it more lately because of spring training, spring break, snowbirds still around, and the general crush hour commute that won't go away.

The congestion should lighten up a bit by summer but it still won't be a breeze.

Like the above person said the snow birds haven't quite left yet and lots of folks come to town for spring training. The 60 is headache anyway during rush hour no matter what time of year.

While I appreciate the temporary boost in our economy, I can't wait for the snowbirds and spring training people to leave. I miss being able to walk into any restaurant on a Saturday night at 7:30p and being seated right away.

What are your plans when retired??????
Just disapearing in the Grand Canyon?

Kind a funny how the old folks get the blame for everything.. I am not old, neither young, 53, but it is just a big city, according to some traffic is nothing compared with the rest of the country.
Me driving a semi all over knows better, Phoenix, or really maricopa couty is just extremely spread out.

It's probably the impact of all of those people who have started threads in this forum about their impending move to Phoenix
