The only thing I get to see the sun setting over are brick buildings.

Here are some I found right away from Kansas. Now, what were you saying?

Those pics look a lot like AZ sunsets. Since you don't live here fulltime, or even part-time, you may be missing what 350 sunsets per year? You can't tell us, who actually live here, what our sunsets are like. I have heard from many who travel a lot that ours are some of the best they have seen. I am in true amazement of many of our sunsets.

P.S. The posted sunsets ARE beautiful.
Amen! He reached a new low with that post. It is difficult to imagine what kind of "issues" would lead someone would go to the trouble of digging out and posting Kansas sunsets just because another poster said AZ had beautiful sunsets. I am drop-jawed-mouth-agape-raised-brows incredulous!

BTW, nice photos. Why not post them on the Sunflower State's forum. They could probably use a little sunshine right now.

What Arizona lacks in the sky, it makes up for on the ground.

BEHOLD!:

Ive probably seen that many sunsets there, and out of those maybe a dozen or so were incredible. Your summer sunsets suck, there are no clouds. Its only the fall and winter sunsets Ive seen that are gorgeous in AZ. But youre right, I dont live there nor get to see them everyday, so Im sure Ive missed many good ones. However, of the thousands of AZ sunset photos Ive seen, most are no better than ones Ive seen in KS, KY, FL, etc. Sorry, thats just the way I see it and Im a bonafide sunset junkie.

To the trained eye, I can tell you that there is alot of editing in that photo. The scene is nice, but those colors are heavily saturated. IOW, what you see in that photo is NOT what the person/camera saw.

Well, the problem is that I could say that KS has wonderful sunsets, but being the closeminded bunch that some of y'all are, you wouldnt believe me w/o proof. I still stand by statement that KS has the best sunsets in the USA. And all you have to do to see them is follow these simple instructions: go to www.wunderground.com, click on Kansas, select a city. Once that cities' weather forecast opens up, on the LH side of the page youll see "wunderphotos", then simply select "Kansas" and voila, youre treated to thousands of photos, many of them are their wonderful sunsets. And if you think KS's sunsets are not as good as AZ's, then Id have to say youre blind or stubborn, maybe both.

Here's the thing, tho. You can find a good sunset in KS and just about anywhere. And once in a while it will be Arizona quality. To do that you have to stand out in the wheat fields in the snow and the tornadoes for who knows how long. In AZ, any nitwit with a Nikon can get a GREAT sunset photo from his backyard just about any day of the year. We don't even pay attention to most of the ones that would have your typical tourist stopped along road snapping away.
