Aren't we glad that here in the U.S. we have the LOWEST electric rates of anywhere in the world?!!! No other country even comes close thanks to our abundance of coal (and now Natural Gas!).

My biggest gas bill was around $140 for heating the pool to 88 for a few days around Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately there is no gas in our neighborhood. Otherwise I would love to have it too.

I have a house in the 1500sf section. I keep my a/c around 82 (Yea I know, its warm) and see nearly $300 bills in the summer. But my bill in winter drops to around $60, so I guess it evens out.

My bill is hitting $350 - $400 in July I like it cold we leave it at 73-76 depends on how humid it is I like it cold at night when I sleep don't really care how much it cost. My bill avg's to $250 a month if you flatten it out over 12 months

Your bill is relative to your SF, $400 would be a steal for that temp in 3800sf, if you only had 1500sf though it would be considered way expensive.

Went back and looked at the bill to make sure it was for the same number of days as last year, and it was...and the temp was the exact same too so I guess we just did a better job of using less electricity. Less on-peak too, maybe the whole pre-cooling things works.

HX, here's a pretty solid case for the Combined Advantage Plan.

We keep our A/C set at 82 in the day, and 76 at night. Granted our condo is kinda small, so our bills are averaging $175-200 a month. Not too bad!
