I assume the boycott Glendale thing is to not patronize businesses in Glendale? While I understand some take their sports to an emotional level, I hate to see businesses who are just trying to earn a living/serving the community get boycotted by something they had nothing to do with. That to me is hurting an innocent bystander. And I'm guessing many businesses who potentially will lose money if they leave Westgate are just as frustrated. Why hurt these business potentially even more?

Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.
City Govt should not be in the stadium business PERIOD. If pro sports is such a huge money maker, why can't they afford to build their OWN STADIUMs ?

Lol, wut?

Are we supposed to believe that Coyotes fans are the drivers of Glendale's economy? I think you guys really ought to take up a collection to pay the taxpayers back for your stadium.

And that is why they call it Glentucky.

I won't be shocked if this really ends up biting them in the a## and the Coyotes rack up tens of millions in damages after all is said and done.

This is a deal that should never have been made but once it was, you can't just cancel it on the flimsiest and most laughable of legal reasoning. Glendale stands to lose far more in a lawsuit from the Coyotes than they would have in the original deal, as skewed as it was. Time for the City Council and the Mayor to throw on the kneepads and go beg forgiveness and hope that they can still work things out.

If not, its going to be a real expensive lesson for the people of Glendale to choose their leaders more carefully.

They can afford to build them.

They don't pay to build the stadiums themselves because the same sports fans who couldn't be bothered to concern themselves with a single social issue of actual importance will vent a spleen at office-holders to pay any price necessary to keep a franchise from moving - and hold it against them if they don't.

Education? Infrastructure? Those issues won't rouse them from their stupor. But a game on the field/court/ice? They'll pay through the nose for sporting events and they'll hold the feet of politicians to the fire if those politicians won't throw lots of public money at the billionaire owners.
