Can we stop using it now?
I can promise you this Zonie has discovered far more statewide than you. Have you been to Grand Canyon? Have you been to Monument Valley ? Have you been to Lake Powell ? That is just for starters.

Rain still won't reach The Valley of the Nonsoons. About 5 million reasons why. We have become Yuma. All the humidity without the rain.

Actually...YES. (I probably visited the Grand Canyon for the first time before you did! )

Your point?

Even if I live her another 40 years (doubtful) I will never be a "Zonie". An Arizonan, sure. It's not a competition, it's about an annoying term that more than one poster has voiced a distaste for.

(If you said you were a huge Twilight Zone fan and called yourself a Zonie, I could see how that would make sense.)

If your first trip to Grand Canyon was prior to 1988 you have me beat. When were you last in Page or Monument Valley ? Tip for MV visitors. Stay in Mexican Hat UT. They serve alcohol being north of Navajo and you have Valley of the gods and Gooseneck State Park for great scenery as an added bonus.

I actually prefer to say "I live in Phoenix", or "I am from Arizona". I don't use labels at all like Arizonian.

First, just a note that I am sorry that you and your wife are going through a rough time and I wish you all the best and I have prayed for you both as you try to enjoy life to the fullest while you can.

However, I think you are being a little unfair to people in this thread. I really don't understand why you think it's okay going around saying you're a true Arizonan, and others aren't, because you went to X, Y, Z locations with a certain frequency. And all the while you're also stating that you prefer to be in California. If this is the case, then why are you playing "Zonie police" and telling Arizonans that they aren't "doing it right"? It's not very nice.

Also, I don't understand why you take it so personally if someone likes, or does not like, 115 degree temperatures, or the temperature of a given body of water.

The Phoenix forum: where an Arizona RV'er complains about how other Arizonans act ... on the beach ... in San Diego.

We are Arizonans, not Arizonians. Did you just do that on purpose?

As of 10:20AM, its 100 degrees, with 27% humidity, with a 60-degree dew point. Yummy.

Friday has forecasted rain, and a high of only 98! I bet its gonna be a humid mess, though.
