San Tan Valley hit 106 today according to weather.com.

Like Prickly Pear, I am not ready. I've been here since 1990 and I'm a full-year Arizonan.

At first I wasn't bothered by the beginning of summer, but in recent years I've inwardly screamed NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo! as we are dragged closer to the edge.

Why? Do you work outside? I think for most folks this is just a mental thing, I've been here for 13 summers and it's not that big of a deal. You make a few adjustments to your outdoor activities and that's about the only difference I see.

Many of us work outside or do a lot of outdoor activities that don't change regardless of the temperature outside. I walk on average 6 miles a day, all year round. That doesn't change whether it's 60 or 100 degrees outside. Though, I do as much as I can to avoid doing that in the summer.

exactly my point, unless you work outdoors and are required to be out during the heat of the day it's pretty easy to adjust your leisure activity times around the peak heat hours. We've got it pretty easy.

How about this weather, eh? Lets focus on these awesome few days coming up. The triple digit temps will be back before we know it.

I missed the 108 day Friday as I was in San Diego where it was grey, cloudy, windy, and cold. It was a full 45+ degrees colder there, even colder Saturday. Just my luck.
