OK, now THAT just a couple hours ago was a real storm. Estrella is wiped out. Looks like a tornado hit. Hundreds of down trees, solar panels torn off, roofing tiles scattered, high voltage tower broken in half.

Another dud. Dust, more lightning, loud thunder, wind, 10 large drops of rain, and a couple of broken branches throughout the area. It's amazing how isolated the effects of monsoon induced storms often are.

You would not have wanted the one we got tonight. In my 40 plus years here I don't recall one like that. Lots of people are out of their homes - they opened the high school for shelter. It's going to be a long time cleaning this up.

The damage here in Estrella is nothing short of mind-boggling. I have never seen anything like this outside of hurricane struck areas I worked in.

I have a home in Estrella and I'm in Canada. My homewatch person tells me we have major roof damage and I'm sitting here recovering from a retina detachment so I can't fly for a month. I suspect this is going to fun coordinating repairs!!! Homewatch Lady also says worst storm she has ever seen.

So sorry to hear that. Some neighborhoods have lots of roof damage in them. The Fairways got clobbered. It's still closed to traffic. There is a picture on the Estrella page of a roofing tile impaled into the side of another house. That's winds approaching triple digits. I don't know exactly but the design spec on the high tension towers that went down has to be over 100.

Houses were completely destroyed/leveled in Rainbow Valley.

I'm just off Westar at Lavender. No one was hurt and it's just a house. It will get fixed and Life moves on. In the big scheme of things it's just a hassle.
