Less than an hour? Did you skip all of the shows, rides and not eat anything? We don’t even get through the animals in an hour.

Well, the Pima County Fair took me about 40 minutes, but it was a pretty darned sad fair.

Oddly enough, my favorite part of the fair is the vendor booth area - with the dozens upon dozens of places selling food, ginzu knives, hot tubs, nut butter, eyeglass cleaner, etc, et al. I can get lost in that for hours.

As some others have mentioned, the AZ State fairgrounds is in what some would consider a "bad area". Furthermore gang members do go to the fair along with normal Joe Blow civilians like you and I. And I would like to take this opportunity to point out that the fair is not just "safe" because because we are "lucky" that a criminal element has not taken it over...We in fact are able to safely have fun in public with our friends and family at the AZ State Fair due to the mass turn out of Law Enforcement professionals that are present at the fair each year ensuring our safety. Safety at the AZ State Fair has been a success and I think we all owe a big thank you to the LE Community that turns out both in uniform and plainclothes each and every year and keeps us safe!!

"Some others"? I don't see anyone who said such a thing.

I guess it was just one other guy, my bad... but I'm not trying to talk down on the neighborhood, I'm just saying that we aren't just "safe", we are kept safe and if there are any LE reading this is my way of giving thanks.

***Edit - Just to be clear, I am not in any way trying to say that the fair is unsafe.

I'm sure they just want guaranteed money. We parked in the same "VIP" lot paying $20 cash when we showed up. No problems.
