My Ring neighborhood network said that the Surprise police are doing the same. In just a short week, I've observed neighbors asking if a dog was in their back yard or coyote, and another was worried about 4 people getting out of a car across the street. That's the bad side of the Ring network (paranoid people).

If it's any consolation, and I doubt it is, you aren't reaching SF Bay area crime trends, which have graduated into brazen break-ins while people are home. They seem to care less about Ring's as they all pull up a hoodie or other face hiding techniques.

True. Based off of Ring videos as well camera feeds all across America, there are still a lot of dumb thieves that go in autopilot mode and show their face. What thieves don't realize as they go from door to door is that neighborhood groups can share info. So while a "smarter" thief might put on their hoodie 90% of the time, all too often, they get sloppy on one spot. Neighbors share and the rest is history. Low IQ and addictions help them from being 100% on top of their game.

Yep, if they were bright to begin with, they wouldn't be taking such risks just to open an Amazon box and find it's full of laundry detergent.

I don’t know about exciting, but...

A homeowner put up a picture of a woman stealing mail and asked if anyone knew who it was. One said they’d seen her at such-and-such hair salon. Another said, “Yes, I know who it is. It’s my mother. She’s been arrested.”

Normally in our neighborhood there are lots of ding dong ditches. Over the holidays there were a number of incidents where men were peering into windows.

The Ring also lets us know when the housesitters arrive and leave.

There was one in our neighborhood where the homeowner said, “I sure hope they enjoy that 40 lb bag of dog food!”

Oh we've had some home invasions as well...I think the difference is said criminal is taking a very large chance that the homeowner in AZ is armed, for the most part even our kids are trained how to use firearms and the criminal may not be getting out of the home in one piece.

Agreed! This isn't the state to burglarize. Heck, I get nervous knocking on a neighbors door at 8pm letting them know their sprinklers are flooding the road. How someone has the gonads to hop fences with motion sensors that let occupants know they are on their property is pretty ballsy. I have wireless sensors (alarm) on my outside breaker box. I have a chime wireless switch attached to my side fence that pings my security keypad. I'm going to install a driveway chime soon as well. I kind of like technology. Still, 3 homes always with cameras has yielded ONE "got you" moment. It's bad ROI (security systems hasn't ever officially caught anyone since 1995 and all of my homes). So as I said, low yield when you are in the right hood. But package thieves are common. So the Ring might add value.

Case the home and break in when the h/o's are at work through the back yard. That's what most of them do.

Indeed. And the exact converse is what they count in SF Bay area, especially with many Indian and Chinese white collar immigrants who have not fully availed themselves of their constitutional rights, and instead are known to store cash and gold at home. Home invasion crews come from out of town, and blatantly drive around in their sh*tboxes pausing to stare at homes.

I was thinking that in AZ, being as 2A friendly as it is, would be a place where criminals aren't anxious to break into the random home and find a barrel pointed at their face.

You raise a question I need to look into... what is the self defense criteria here ?
In Cali, the criminal has every right; your duty is only to run, give them everything they ask, or die.
